ezra and liaka found themselves at an empty firepit and thought that it would be a nice place to settle down for the time being

they set down their things and take a seat on one of the logs around the bonfire

they spend some time taking in the scenery and thinking about oliver

Beetle walked over, not yet noticing the other person here before taking a seat. They finally sighed, sinking into their seat as to destress.

laika sees them from the corner of their eye while ezra is off in their own little world

they consider briefly pretending like they do not see the new person, but decide to engage at least a little bit. What’s the worst that could happen?

laika softly glances over and gives a subdued wave

laika was not sure who (or what) they were looking at but they seemed friendly enough (edited)

Beetle finally noticed them, a bright green flush covering their cheeks before they hesitantly waved back. "Oh... Hi there!"

the noise of beetle saying hi snaps ezra out of their trance, causing them to move their head out from behind laika and look over to the source of the noise. Only now was ezra visible to beetle.

they give a casual wave

They stopped waving as soon as they saw Ezra, eyes widening before their pupils dilatated as they got up and walked over. "Woah... You two look very cool together!"

laika immediately got very self conscious and started peering down. Ezra, on the other hand, was flattered E: aw thank you! We appreciate it :) (edited)

E: what’s your name?

"I'm Beetle! And you two are?" Their pupils remained dilated, which at this point would be a bit disturbing but they had a warm smile as they held their hands together in front of their chest.

E: oh um I’m Ezra and this is laika ezra motions over to Laika’s side; they look back up from the ground and give an uncomfortable ‘mhm’ (I’m sorry this took so long to type uehg)

ezra then quickly nudged Laika’s side. Laika shot them a quick look and then redid their introduction L: oh yea hi nice to meet you

Beetle immediately recognized that Laika was uncomfortable, making them feel a bit guilty. Were they being too much? Guess they should tone it down. Their eyes softened up as they smiled a bit more. "Ezra and Laika, hm? Those are some nice names, almost good enough for me to steal them!" They laughed, trying to be lighthearted.

they both had a mild smile for the first half of beetles sentence they turned into both of them looking at beetle like it was insane

laika thought back to the conversation starters the 2 had googled on the bus L: so what do you do at the office?

Beetle's mood dropped when they realized that their joke was in poor taste, making them bite their tongue before looking between the two. "Oh! I'm a support specialist! I help out with fixing computers that don't work!"

L: oh cool!

L: I really like your outfit

Beetle held the edges of the swim dress, twirling around while giggling. "Awww thanks! Miss Sonya helped me pick this out!"

neither of them remembered who that was

ezra was starting to become more comfortable with beetle

"Anyways, what do you do in the office, I don't believe I have ever seen you before." They tilted their head towards the two, smiling as sweetly as they could.

L: we sort files!

E: all we have to do to get payed every day is ask the group chat if anyone needs any files sorted

L: and then go to anyones office who needs files sorted and do it! laika quickly caught themselves finishing their siblings’ sentence, which is something they try to avoid doing as much as possible, as it makes most people very uncomfortable

"Mhmmm..." Beetle nodded while listening to the two as their tail wagged. These two will be fun to know. "That sounds interesting, is it hard in any way?"

E: nope!

E: actually the only thing is we have to talk to a lot of people

they both interally thought the tail was odd but didn’t think too much of it

E: …do you know if there is anything to do around here without much people around?

"I mean... Not really... Maybe we can find something we can do however." They folded their hands behind their back and swayed back and forth on their heels.

laika blurted out an answer without thinking twice L: sure! sounds like fun

ezra was pleasantly surprised at their sibling’s outwardness

A smile grew on their face, giggling happily. "Alrighty! Guess we're going to go around and explore huh?"

E: guess so!

they stood up from the log and started scanning around for paths or trails

L: how about that way

they are pointing to a small trail with a little marker of a Ferris wheel on it

Beetle looked at the trail, following it with their eyes before smiling. "Sure! We can go that way!"

they spoke over each other on accident L: yea ! E: cool

They started giggling then headed towards the trail. "Well come on then! I rather explore while there is still light out!"

they briskly followed after beetle
